Veeraraghavan Inbavijayan, born May 23, 1975, was educated at undergraduate level at Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College (formerly Madras Law College), University of Madras, India.
After completing his legal education, he took up practice at The High Court of Madras during 1997. His enthusiasm towards Arbitration made him decide to pursue whole time arbitration practice since 2001. In 2006 he was admitted as a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a worldwide organisation based in London UK.
He has presided as a sole arbitrator in over 750 domestic cases and five international cases in South Asia. He also represented clients before arbitral tribunals in more than 50 ad hoc and institutional arbitrations.
His areas of practice includes international commercial arbitration, maritime arbitration, international trade & contracts, intellectual property rights, construction disputes, finance disputes, securities arbitration, joint ventures, banking law, documentary credits (L/Cs), ADR, sale of goods and investment disputes.
Inbavijayan is accredited as an arbitrator by HKIAC, CIETAC, RCAKL, CRCICA, ICADR and several other regional and national arbitration institutions. He is co-founder of an arbitration institution, 'Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration' ( CNICA ) based in Chennai (Madras), India.
Inbavijayan has contributed various articles and books in the field of arbitration and has lectured to law schools and conferences.
